I smiled quietly to myself and left it at that.
I walked into work today, about an hour late, due to an errand at the county recorders office, and was literally delighted with what I saw. Being 'delighted', as anyone who knows me knows is a rare state. But today, I was really delighted.There they were...three volunteers carefully cleaning our cat cages and feeding our cats. On a Monday morning, on this lovely day (before it started raining), these amazing people decided to come spend a couple hours scrubbing cages, changing litter, rolling up soiled newspapers, and hanging out with the cats.
I wanted to run up and hug each one of them. But I, as a policy, don't hug, so I smiled quietly to myself and left it at that.
